I write books. Some of them are naughty. Others are more well behaved.

About the A Little Bit Broken series.

Did you base the Professor on someone you knew? Or a celebrity?

The Professor isn't based on anyone I know, but he is inspired by a handful of British actors, and models. He's about 80% Tom Hiddleston with a healthy dash of Matthew Macfadyen, Clive Owen, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Model David Gandy's amazing body and incredible sense of style inspired the Professor's physique, and wardrobe. While model Sean O'Pry's perfect hair (and god, just go look at that man, honestly his everything is perfect) inspired the Professor's adorable messed coif.

But yes, above all Tom Hiddleston was my biggest inspiration. His voice, his eyes, his ability to transition from charming gentleman to dashing scoundrel in the blink of an eye is very much how I picture the Professor. (Also hands. If you like sexy man-hands, Tumblr has got you covered.)

But the beauty of a book is we have the ability to picture the characters ourself. I'd love to hear from you - how do you imagine the Professor?

Throw them all in a blender and hit puree. Yummy!

What was on your playlist while writing this series? What kind of music do the characters listen to?

I love to listen to music when I'm writing. I often find one song so inspiring to a particular scene or vibe that I'll listen to it on a loop for hours while working. (Thank god for headphones, or my family would go mad!) The playlist for Book One was a lot of fun to put together. For starters I imagined what kind of music Jane listens to, and I decided she's into 80s and 90s new wave and alternative. So I started developing my playlist from there. It's a mish mosh of a lot of stuff, but it's fun. Here's a list of some of my top played songs:

What's next for Jane and the Professor?

Overall I'm not entirely sure how many books we'll end up with, I don't want to limit the process, so I going to let that unfold naturally. I will say that Jane has a bright and busy future ahead of her, and her relationship with Dr. Grayson is never far from her mind. But they are in for a tough road these two. The path to love has quite a few obstacles in it, but a lot of steamy sexy-times too. And ultimately this is a romance, so readers can count on a satisfying and happy ending.

As the story continues we'll see more of Charlie (Charlotte) and Sasha. And don't be surprised if Jane makes a move to larger city in pursuit of a career. Doing what? You'll have to wait and see.

I'd take a tumble with him. You?

OMG. Look at this picture.

If I'd seen this before I wrote the Laundromat scene, things might have gone a little differently...but oh well. :) Regardless, if you've read the book, this photo is a very nice accompaniment to the Laundromat scene. If you haven't read the book yet...what are you waiting for?
